Congratulations to the Heathwood Hall Competitive Cheer team, who won the SCISA 4A Non-Tumble State Championship on November 16, 2024.

PEAK offers programs for youth and adults that range from structured skill-specific events to relaxed "just for fun and fellowship" events, and everything in between! Events typically run 2, 4, or 6 hours (all day), with the exception of more speciality events that might take place off-campus or include overnight camping.

Community hosts collaborate with PEAK Staff to plan unique events, and we encourage you to come for a site visit and see the possibilities for yourself! Adventure activities available will vary based on the age(s) of participants, the number of participants, the length of the event, and more - check out a list of possible adventure activities below.

Goals

In addition to preferred activities, PEAK takes into account the goals of your group. Any of our adventure activities can be facilitated in a variety of ways to achieve a variety of results. An easy way to think about this is considering the activity with

  • ...an emphasis on skill development (how to belay a climber, how to use a compass)
  • ...an emphasis on community (empathy, communication, conflict resolution, teamwork)
  • ...an emphasis on fun, adventure, personal development (healthy risk taking, knowing yourself, personal accomplishment)

    Adventure Activities

  • Odyssey Course (high ropes, designed for teamwork)
  • Alpine Tower (high ropes, individual challenge, active belays)
  • SkyPark (high ropes, 7th grade and up only, individual challenge, "choose your own adventure")
  • Giant Swing (30ft pendulum swing)
  • Archery (archery range, instruction, competitions)
  • Pond (paddling - canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddle boards, fishing)
  • Climbing Wall (bouldering wall)
  • Initiatives (on-the-ground problem solving/creative thinking challenges for groups)
  • Hiking/Biking (nature trails on and off campus)
  • Camping (hammocks and tents, on and off campus)
  • Off-campus Adventures (river trips, guided hikes, camping, etc)
  • Orienteering & other specific Outdoor/Scout Skills (e.g., how to start a fire, how to pitch a tent)
  • Specific lessons/experiences related to science standards, the environment (e.g, habitats, plant/animal adaptations, Leave No Trace, watersheds/water quality)

Please contact us for information about rates, to schedule a visit to our facilities, to begin planning an event, or anything else we can help you with!

PEAK also offers private events for families or any group looking to celebrate, as well as team building, leadership training, and corporate retreat opportunities for local businesses
