Brionna Zimmerman Named Athletic Director Of Heathwood Hall
Heathwood Hall is excited to announce that Brionna Zimmerman '05 has been named Athletic Director, moving into the position permanently from her role as Interim Athletic Director. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Coach Zimmerman for her leadership during the interim and for playing an integral part in the ongoing renovations of the Athletics Complex. Head of School Chris Hinchey said, "Through her various roles and relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff, her impressive athletic background, and leadership experience, Brionna Zimmerman is uniquely positioned to lead Heathwood’s athletics program into the future."
Brionna Dickerson Zimmerman '05 joined Heathwood Hall in August of 2018.
During her tenure, she served as the Alumni Relations Coordinator working closely with the Development and Advancement teams to increase alumni engagement, and she also spent three years as the Special Events Coordinator, overseeing large-scale events like the Annual Auction, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, and Homecoming.
From 2021 - 2024, Brionna served as the Assistant Athletic Director and Sports Information Director and was appointed the interim Athletic Director immediately following Eva Greenberg’s resignation. Brionna is also the Head Coach for the Varsity Girls Basketball team at Heathwood.
A standout athlete in her own right, Brionna finished her basketball career at Heathwood as the all-time leading scorer and third-highest scorer in South Carolina state history, with nearly 3,400 career points. She continued her basketball journey playing under legendary coach Dawn Staley at The University of South Carolina.
Zimmerman will officially begin the role of Athletic Director effective immediately.
