Convocation Marks the Start of the 2022 Academic Year

On Wednesday, September 7th, Heathwood Hall celebrated Convocation, a church service and long-standing Heathwood tradition that marks the beginning of the new school year.

The Episcopal service included students from the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, faculty, staff and administration, and a number of Board members. Episcopal clergy from numerous churches in town presided, and the newly appointed Bishop of Upper South Carolina - and Heathwood Hall parent - the Right Reverend Daniel Richards delivered the homily.

As one of many beautiful traditions at Heathwood, Convocation offers our community the chance to gather, reflect and set intentions for our time together during the new school year. It allows us to pray for Heathwood Hall, its students, families, faculty and staff and the work we do with our students.
