PEAK at Heathwood Hall
Through curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular programs, the PEAK Program presents every single student at Heathwood Hall, from 2-year olds to 12 graders, with opportunities to push their limits, to become better leaders, and to develop a love of adventure and the natural world.
PEAK is for Every Highlander
Students in all levels engage with PEAK staff and explore the outdoors through programs arranged by classroom teachers to target specific elements in the curriculum. In addition to this collaboration with teachers, PEAK also offers formal programming at every level, emphasizing age-appropriate fun and challenge.
PEAK by Level
Early Childhood
Students in EC3 and EC4 classes enjoy canoe rides on the pond in the fall and spring, hikes on the Weston nature trail, and donning climbing gear to fly like reindeer at Christmas.
Lower School
Lower School students have enrichment opportunities in the fall and the spring through PEAK after-school clubs. PEAK offers instruction and experience at a beginner level in outdoor adventures including climbing, paddling, hiking, and more.
Middle School
All Middle School students participate in a PEAK class emphasizing outdoor adventure, personal challenge, healthy risk taking and interpersonal skills. On annual Middle School class trips, students embrace nature, explore new environments, and bond through shared adventures and hands-on learning experiences.
Upper School
PEAK Student Leaders (PSLs), assist with programs for all ages and positively influence younger students while developing their own abilities. Upper School students can also add Wild X to their schedule or join the Outdoor Club. PEAK also offers domestic and international expeditions in March and July for Upper School students.
